About Boards & Commissions
The City Council appoints members to the various boards and commissions of the city. Members are also subject to removal by a two-thirds majority vote of the entire council. Each board and commission chooses its own chairperson and vice-chairperson and adopts its own rules of procedure for the proper conduct of its business.
The boards and commissions serve an important role in the city structure bringing information and recommendations to the City Council for discussion and approval.
