City elections are held every even-numbered year on the Tuesday following the first Monday of April.

2016 Election
The regular City election shall be held Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at the Community Building at 340 S. 14th Street, Burlington, CO.  Polls will be open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.

Municipal electors are those who:
  •                 Are 18 years of age
  •                 A citizen of the United States
  •                 Resided in this municipality for 30 days preceding the election
  •                 Have registered to vote

Application for absentee ballots may be made in person at City Hall, 415 15th Street, Burlington, Colorado, may be requested by telephone at (719) 346-8652 from 7:00 am until 4:00 pm Monday through Friday, or may be downloaded.  Any application for an absentee ballot shall be filed with (or if mailed, shall be received) by the Clerk’s office at City Hall no later than 4:00 pm on Friday, April 1, 2016.

All absentee ballots must be received by the City Clerk by 7:00 pm on April 5, 2016

Should an emergency arise after the closing day for absentee ballot applications, requests for emergency absentee ballots may be made to the City Clerk before 7:00 pm on Election Day.

Three (3) City Council members and one (1) Mayor are to be elected to serve for four-year terms.
