Nestled in the heart of Colorado's Central Plains, Old Town Museum embodies "Life In The Past Lane"! The 6 1/2acre historic site includes 21 fully restored buildings with authentic artifacts from the turn-of-the-century. Easily accessible from I-70 near the Colorado/Kansas border, Old Town Museum celebrates local agriculture, history and heritage.

Special Interactive Exhibits offer children a unique opportunity to learn first-hand about pioneer life on the Colorado prairie.

The Old Town Emporium is a shopper's delight...Nearly 2000 square feet of hand-crafted collectibles, gifts, keepsakes and souvenirs.

Old Town is open year round 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m. on Sundays.

Old Town Activities

Old Town Express (Seasonal)
Enjoy a horse drawn wagon ride to the Kit Carson County Carousel- The wagon runs every weekend, Memorial Day through Labor Day and by special arrangements for groups the rest of the year.

Soda Fountain (All Year)
Relive the era of the soda jerk, the jukebox and chocolate sodas.  Enjoy hand dipped ice cream treats of all kinds!  Memorial Day to the start of the school year.

Kit Carson County Carousel (Seasonal)
The carousel is open Memorial Day to Labor Day from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.  Old Town can also facilitate special tours and trips to the Carousel the rest of the year for group tours arranged at least 2 weeks ahead of time.

SCHOOLDAZE- the second Wednesday in May – A day set aside for schools to bring their students to learn ab out the settling of the plains.

HALLOWEEN – Attend one of the best family activities in the area the Saturday before Halloween. Trick or treat in the Old Town buildings and go through the Haunted House in the barn.
