Plains on the Colorado/Kansas border on I-70, rich in agriculture, history and heritage is the Old Town Museum, a 6 1/2 acre
historical complex with 21 buildings restored with authentic artifacts from the turn-of-the-century.
Old Town is "life in the past lane" by turning back the hands of time in rural America. While visiting Old Town, enjoy the trademarks of the Wild, Wild West. During the summer season we offer a soda fountain, hand dipped ice cream treats, CanCan shows, gunfights, and take a ride on the horse drawn wagon. The Old Town Emporium is a shopper's delight...2000 square feet of hand-crafted collectibles, gifts, keepsakes and souvenirs. Old Town is open year round 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m. on Sundays.

Enjoy a horse drawn wagon ride to the Kit Carson County
Carousel- The wagon runs every weekend, Memorial Day through Labor Day and by special arrangements for groups the rest of
the year.
Enjoy soda pop, popcorn and peanuts while the cancan girls entertain. Memorial Day to the start of the school year.
Relive the era of the soda jerk, the jukebox and chocolate sodas. Enjoy hand dipped ice cream treats of all kinds! Memorial Day to the start of the school year.

The carousel is open Memorial Day to Labor Day from 1 to 8 p.m. Old Town operates the Carousel the rest of the year for group tours arranged at least 2 weeks ahead of time.
Other activities throughout the year: SCHOOLDAZE- the second Wednesday in May – A day set aside
for schools to bring their students to learn ab out the settling of the plains.
