Things to See in the Burlington Community
While in Burlington, stop and see the All Veteran's Monument, at the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 6491, honoring all veterans who have served in the Armed Forces of the United States of America. A Cobra helicopter, acquired from the Department of Defense, crouches on a stainless steel pedestal above the monument.
Burlington has beautiful parks, a pool, walking trails, a golf course, and numerous recreational opportunities.
The central plains of Colorado hold a magic all their own. Oceans of wheat and corn surround the roadways. Small communities located along Interstate 70 were formed during the development of the railroad. They welcome travelers with various amenities and quiet places to stay, play, and explore the culture of small town living. It is well known that sometimes the best things in life are found right off the beaten path. Turn back the hands of time and imagine yourself in a place where the colorful past is alive with fun and excitement for the whole family. Imagine losing yourself in Kit Carson County, Colorado.
Every summer, residents from across the state enjoy spending time at the Kit Carson County fair and rodeo, located in Burlington. The county fair features traditional rodeos, livestock shows, carnivals, and much more. Be sure to attend County Events Day at the fair, where a free barbecue is served by the County Commissioners.
When visiting the area, take a moment and visit our local shops and businesses. In Burlington, there is always something for everyone to enjoy.
